YMCA Anchor After-School Program

SFUSD K-5 Public Elementary School

Our stellar After School Anchor Program through Stonestown YMCA will continue to operate at Sloat for the 2022-2023 school year! Anchor offers on-site, before and after school care, available for all grades (K-5). Commodore Sloat students can attend 5, 3, or 2 days per week (subject to availability of spots), and some full subsidies and scholarships are available. The program runs from the end of the school day (2:55pm M, Tu, Th, F, or 1:40pm on Wed) until 6:00pm. Morning care is also available from 7am until the start of school at 8:40am.

Anchor program will operate with a 1:14 – 1:20 teacher-to-student ratio with the goal to accommodate as many families as possible who desire a spot.  However, a spot cannot be guaranteed if staffing issues are encountered.

We are committed to providing high quality programming that focuses on youth development theory, Restorative Practices, the development of 21st Century skills, socio-emotional development, critical thinking skills, and leadership development. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of our diverse school community in an equitable manner.

Anchor offers:

  • Enrichments (sports, arts, etc.)
  • Academic support
  • Relationship building
  • Social skills
  • Nutritious snacks
  • Monthly themes
