2024 Sloat Online Auction

The 2024 Sloat Online Auction will run from 8:00 AM on Monday, March 22, 2024 to Friday, April 5, 2024 @ 10:00 PM.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 this year. Proceeds will go to Commodore Sloat School PCO in order to sustain our school’s many initiatives such as extra PE class, art lessons, dance classes, cultural assemblies, air filters, social emotional learning, and paraprofessional support staff!

Auction items range from cultural events, beauty products, fun excursions and amazing items, services and experiences donated from our community that are guaranteed to delight and surprise.  Now is your chance to not only get all the great items you want, but to do it knowing you are helping support our organization and mission.

So, tell your friends, family, community. Let the bidding begin!

Count Me In Parties

Count Me In Parties are a wonderful way to engage with the Sloat community and raise money for the school at the same time.

You might attend a party hosted by a friend or make a new friend by attending a party hosted by someone you’ve never met! You can attend as many as you like, and of course, we’d love for you to host one of your own!

To host, start with an idea of something fun you’d like to do with other Sloat community members, whether it’s kids, adults, or both. If it’s kids, you can limit the grades that are eligible to attend. You decide how many people you’re comfortable hosting and where the event will be. You can set a date or wait until you can coordinate a date with your attendees. Your attendees buy a count me in ticket, and you will receive their contact information so you can coordinate the rest. The cost of the event is covered by you and the money raised from the ticket sales goes toward the PCO paid programming at Sloat.

2024 Sloat Fund-A-Need: Gardening Program at Sloat

We are incredibly excited that this year we were able to have our Garden Program with Mr. Raphael!

The Sloat Garden Program is possible via a partnership with Climate Corps Education Outside and the cost of the program is $25,000. At our Sloat Social we were already able to raise $11,600 towards our garden program which means we are almost halfway to our overall goal of $25,000!

Donating to Commodore Sloat Elementary School’s gardening program directly benefits our students and community:

  1. Hands-On Learning: Your support provides students with practical gardening experiences, nurturing a lifelong love for nature and science.
  2. Life Skills: Through gardening, students learn responsibility, teamwork, and patience, essential skills they’ll carry into adulthood.
  3. Healthy Habits: We grow fresh produce on-site, teaching students about healthy eating and where their food comes from.
  4. Environmental Awareness: Your donation promotes environmental stewardship as students learn about sustainability and ecosystem interdependence.
  5. Community Connection: Our garden brings together students, families, and neighbors, fostering a strong sense of community and shared learning.
  6. Investing in the Future: By supporting our program, you’re helping to cultivate a brighter future for our school and empowering students with valuable knowledge and skills.
