Ms. Tricia Wong, 2nd grade

SFUSD K-5 Public Elementary School

In 1994 I came to Sloat after attending CSULB in Southern California, obtaining my teaching credential from San Francisco State and doing a short stint at Visitacion Valley Elementary School. I taught kindergarten in D4 for 6 years before moving to 2nd grade where I’ve been for the last 14 years. In 1998, I received a master’s degree in Education from USF with the notion of possibly working at an educational technology company. Needless to say, that idea didn’t pan out, as I realized how much I enjoy working directly with kids.

Commodore Sloat has been a part of my life in many ways. I started teaching here before I had children. Now, under the guidance and dedication of many teachers, many of whom are my good friends, my son is graduating Sloat and is prepared to face the challenges of middle school. My daughters Sydney and Olivia will be in 2nd grade and kindergarten this coming year.

In my “spare” time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, baking, eating chocolate and baked goods, drinking coffee, cooking, reading, exercising and trying to appreciate and live life in the present.
I feel very privileged to work with such dedicated and hard working staff and parents. The support of a community this wonderful, makes my job so rewarding!
