Summer Playdates are being planned for incoming kindergarten families June 12, July 17, and Aug 14th. Come and play on the kindergarten yard and meet new friends.

2021-22 INCOMING FAMILIES – Sign up for email list

Signing up for this email list will allow you to access our intra-school communications tool, ParentSquare. You can use the platform to communicate with your child’s teacher, other staff members, and other parents in their classes. This makes scheduling playdates, after-school activities, sports meetups, your child’s zoom/in-person get togethers easier.

We will also be using this list to communicate with families to schedule summer playdates, to meet other incoming families, and provides a forum for you to ask current parent hosts any questions you may have about the school.

Kindergarten Orientation

Virtual Kindergarten orientation is on August 13, 2021 from 2:00pm – 3:00pm. Stay tuned for more information from the principal. For tips on how to prepare your incoming kindergartner for school, go here. 

After-School Program (Anchor)

Our onsite after school program, called “Anchor,” is run by the Stonestown YMCA. For more info on registration, visit the Anchor page on our site.

YMCA will officially be back to provide in-person, after school and before school programming starting August 16th 2021! Online registrations will be open to families starting Wednesday, July 14th 2021.

If you’d like to get ready and set up a Community Portal account to expedite your registration process before July 14th, please click here to create your online account. Consider volunteering.  We have many great ways to volunteer at the school – Being a room parent, or volunteering on the yard during recess or lunch is a great way to get involved quickly at Sloat. Visit our Volunteers page for ways you can get involved and make a difference!

There are many easy ways to support our school financially without spending any additional money, from shopping on Amazon,  eScrip to eWaste recycling!  Take a look at our Fundraising section to see all the ways you can help keep and continue to improve all the great programs we have at Commodore Sloat.

All California Public School Students will have access to free breakfast and lunch start Fall 2021.

Free and Reduced Meals

ALL FAMILIES whether you plan on utilizing meal program MUST complete an application. This allows the school to receive funding for our meal program for those that may need it.  PLEASE COMPLETE AN APPLICATION HERE: Applications for free and reduced meals in San Francisco Unified School District are available under the National School Lunch, School Breakfast, and After School Snack Program.

Eligibility is based on household income. Children pay nothing if they are eligible for free or reduced price meals.
Children in homes that receive Food Stamps, California Work Opportunity (CalWORKS) and Responsibility to kids assistance units (KinGAP) or benefit from the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) are eligible regardless of household income.

ALL FAMILIES – Please Fill out an online application.

Applications are also available in English, Chinese, and Spanish at all schools at the beginning of the school year, or at Student Nutrition Services Office at 841 Ellis Street.  For more information, please call (415) 749-3604.

Pay Online

Pay online at www.MypaymentsPlus.com! View your child’s purchase history. If your child pays full price for breakfast and lunch meals (paid eligibility), you have the option to pay for meals one day at a time or to purchase several meals ahead of time.  You will need your child’s ID # from the office to sign up.

Pay By Check

To pay by check, download and complete the school meals prepayment form, put the cash or check in an envelope and have your child return it to the cafeteria staff. Please note that the check must be made payable to “Student Nutrition Services.” Be sure to write your child’s name and room number on the check. Please remember to submit a Meal Application. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to pay for any accrued meal charges.

Meal Prices

Those ineligible for free or reduced meals through the National School Lunch, School Breakfast, and After School Snack program pay $1.50 for breakfast and $3.00 for lunch. Snacks are free for students enrolled in an after school education/instructional program.
