Book Fair coming September 8!

Sloat holds a huge Scholastic Book Fair during the week of Back to School Night each Fall and then sometimes again in the spring during the Rainbow-A-Fair festival. The Book Fair is really popular with the kids. Each class visits the book fair during school hours, and each child makes a wish list of books they hope their parents/guardians will let them buy. Volunteers tally up each list and print a total of what their wish list would cost with sales tax. The students then take their wish lists home to show their parents/guardians.

Teachers also make a wish list. Parents make a slip for each book a teacher chooses and make the slips available for the students to see, so they have a chance to buy a book for their classroom or favorite teacher.

The book fair is open during the school day and after school, and then again before and after Back to School Night.

Depending on everyone’s schedule, sometimes we bring back a smaller book fair to put on during the spring Rainbow-A-Fair festival.

The Book Fair is an important fundraiser that supports Sloat’s enrichment programs. Check the Calendar link for exact dates. If you want to know who is in charge to ask questions or volunteer to help, click here to see PCO and event chair contact list.
