Sloat celebrates Halloween in a big way! Check the Calendar link for exact dates. These events require a lot of parent-power, so don’t wait for an invitation to help out. Just drop an e-mail to volunteer@sloatparents.org indicating your interest, and it will be passed on to the coordinator. Pumpkin Patch

The Parents’ Club trucks in hundreds of pumpkins and sets up a pumpkin patch in the upper garden, complete with decorations, and every child can buy a pumpkin for $1. Parents work the pumpkin patch in shifts, helping unload, set up, write names on pumpkins, and clean up.

Halloween Parade

The Friday before Halloween, students and staff, and quite a few parents too, put on costumes and have a parade in the lower yard. Students often have individual Halloween parties in their classrooms as well.

Haunted House

Parent volunteers set up an amazing haunted house on stage in the auditorium. Classes each get to come to the haunted house in turn. The littlest ones go through the haunted house with the lights on, and the big kids go through with lights off!
