On Thursday, February 27, 2020, Commodore Sloat named its library the Jennifer Boyd Library.

Ms. Boyd was a beloved librarian at Sloat for eight years, and she was instrumental in creating the warm, welcoming, and well stocked celebration of reading and learning at the heart of our campus.

Jennifer was a superb elementary school librarian. She loved working with children, and took great pride in helping them learn and grow. She received frequent recognition and gratitude from students, parents, and fellow teachers. It was a tragic loss to all of us when Ms. Boyd passed away in December 2019.

The Sloat community is proud to honor her legacy by naming the library for Jennifer Boyd. We are confident that generations of Sloat students will benefit from her contributions to our school, and will celebrate her passion for nurturing young readers.
